The Annex, Plas Colwyn
Small but perfectly formed… is how we like to think of “The Annex”
Nestling next to Plas Colwyn we completely refurbished our bolt hole for two in January 2020… luckily a couple of guests got to enjoy it and then sadly for us all Covid 19 struck and it’s sat empty for a while. But we are now open for business and what better way to spend a couple of nights “away from it all”.
As you enter your personal front door you are straight into our fitted kitchen, with duo tone concrete effect doors and beautiful white quartz worktops. We aim to provide everything you need for your break. A kettle (obviously!), microwave, double ceramic hob (if you decide to do a bit of home cooking), fridge with freezer compartment (essential for some ice in your relaxing drink after a days exploring), cutlery and crockery and lots of storage space. There’s a large larder unit ideal if you want to store your golf clubs, walking gear or suitcases.
Hiding under the stairs is the shower and loo. Again completely refurbished with white sparkly boarded walls and a power shower. Upstairs is the bedroom. Available as a twin or queen size double (we have zip and lock beds) with beautiful views of Moel Hebog from the bed.
Lying in bed with that first cup of tea watching and listening to the village wake up with the sound of the river outside is one of my favourite moments. Fitted furniture provides a small dressing table, mirror, wardrobe hanging and a window seat under which there is drawer space. Bedside lamps and USB charging points for your convenience as well as a smart tv and WiFi connectability.
So, if you wish to visit Beddgelert to walk, climb Snowdon, take a train on the Welsh Highland Railway, explore Welsh castles in Caernarfon, Criccieth and beyond, play golf (4 great courses just a short drive away), relax on the local beaches or just potter around the beautiful village The Annex is an ideal place to stay.
Beddgelert itself offers a host of facilities. Next door we have Cafe Hebog providing an outdoor garden by the river, the Prince Llewelyn is a pub with providing great breakfasts and food all day. Over the bridge from the annex is the lovely Tan Ronnen with its huge log fire and warm welcome with home cooked food and local beers, the famous Glaslyn Artisan Ice Cream parlour is next serving award winning Ice creams and the restaurant attached serving fabulous pizzas. Emrys House, the local shop and post office seems to stock everything you will need!
There’s a lovely woodcraft shop to browse and a National Trust gift shop should you wish to “shop shop”!
A short walk takes you to the Sygun Copper mines and a visit to Beddgelert wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Gelerts grave.
We would love to host you and will endeavour to make your stay as special as we can.
